Meet The Designer
FGattys| Fantaja Gattys
From Conway, South Carolina, Fantaja has truly made a name for herself in the fashion industry. It all started her Junior year of high school . She took a course in high school called Home Economics was the class where she learned she had the gift of sewing. She also comes from a family who does sew also . One of uncles is the greatest tailor in the Grand Strand area, Jesse Gettys.
Fantaja always loved fashion, from a young age, around seven or eight, she knew she was destined to be in the fashion world. Her style was always different and loved to be bold. She often felt like an outcast because she always had an eye for fashion and away of styling it . Fantaja has her favorite outfits that she would rotate faithfully as a child and her mother would be so upset that she would never want to switch it up . The truth is her mother didn’t know style and would buy her clothes that didn’t speak to her creative mind so she had to make work with what spoke for her style.
In high school Fantaja won best dressed , at that moment she knew that her passion for fashion wasn’t just a phase , it’s a fire desire that literally burns her. Once she adventured off into college she really begin to develop her sense of style , she made friends who then began to ask her to style them . She enjoyed that a lot , one of her core memories from collage was almost winning best dressed. It was another female on campus who also could really dress, however that same female stated she felt Fantaja should have won and that’s a compliment Fantaja always remembers. S/O to Meech 🤍.
Although she loves fashion so much the gift to make it is what motivates her. Fantaja enjoys knowing certain things is all hers, while she also can replicate certain things.
Her motto is “I’ll never stop learning , as the world progresses and fashion is constantly changing so is my skills.” She understands now that she can’t do everything and that something’s she may have to say no to as she may not have met that level of advancement YET.
The journey has not always been smooth, has been faced with difficulty she would not change a thing. When she does get it right the reaction from clients warms her heart.
In the year(s) to come Fantaja prays that God continue to bless her business, her child, her family & clients.
